About MedBen University
MedBen University (MBU) provides an opportunity for professionals to receive practical information about benefits management in a relaxed learning environment. MBU is offered at no charge by MedBen and is designed for organizations that offer, or are considering offering, a self-funded health plan. 

Participants receive accurate, timely information on various aspects of self-funding, from stop-loss insurance to regulatory compliance. Group size is limited, so presentations can be more interactive. And participant feedback is encouraged, so course material can be tailored to real world situations.

Each MedBen University includes time for participants to meet and interact with other human resource professionals in order to exchange ideas and information.

Course Offerings
MedBen University makes it easy for you to gain access to important information that will help you better manage your health benefits program. Whether you are new to self-funding or have been self-funded for years, MedBen University can offer valuable insight into the changing climate surrounding benefits administration. Course curriculum can be tailored to an employer’s specific needs, but typically includes: basic self-funding principles, benefit cost and utilization trends, regulatory updates, benefit design strategies and benefit management tips.

Courses are available on three levels – introductory, intermediate and advanced – and can be mixed and matched to suit your education needs. Some MedBen University courses have been presented for continuing education credit.

About our Faculty . . .
MedBen University courses are taught by highly experienced benefits administrators.  Each faculty member has a minimum of 10 years experience and collectively have earned most of the certifications available in the health insurance industry.  Faculty members come from MedBen’s team of experts and other organizations with which MedBen has formed education partnerships.  Business executives, certified benefits specialists, legal counselors, privacy officers, pharmacists and others clinicians are among those who have taught for MedBen University.

Expert information is shared in an easy-to-understand format. Our presenters consistently receive the highest possible marks on participant evaluations for both course content and presentation style.

Convenient Locations
Each year MedBen University is offered in a variety of locations to make it convenient for busy professionals to attend. Courses are typically scheduled across Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and other locations throughout the Midwest.

Most sessions are four hours, but can be extended up to eight hours based on the desired curriculum. Sessions are offered on-site and can be arranged for groups of 20 or more. 

Cost to Attend
The only cost to attend MedBen University is for your transportation to get there. MedBen University is a free education program offered as a service of Medical Benefits Companies. At MedBen, we believe education is the best way to empower our clients to make informed, on-target decisions. For this same reason, we welcome to MedBen University those professionals who are considering a change in their benefits management arrangement, or who would simply like to learn more about third party benefits administration.  

Participants each receive a certificate of completion and a MedBen University commemorative gift. Refreshments also are included, and lunch may be provided by the program host or for an additional fee.
