incentives for participants to take a more active role in controlling and
reducing their own medical expenses when appropriate. Those who use network
providers have the advantage of lower negotiated pricing. The 20%
coinsurance differential encourages individuals to utilize preferred hospitals
and physicians.
Above all, MedBen Managed Care offers businesses
of all sizes the same attention, cost effectiveness and high-quality service
traditionally available only to larger companies.
The High-deductible Option
In addition to the standard deductible options, employers can also offer MedBen
Managed Care as a high-deductible health plan (HDHP), with an annual
employee deductible of at least $2,000 for singles ($4,000 for families), plus
the option of a maximum coinsurance limit. Employers who elect an HDHP qualify
by IRS guidelines to offer a
Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) or a
Health Savings
Account (HSA) to their employees. Contributions to these accounts can
be applied to the HDHP deductible and other qualified medical expenses, or saved
toward retirement. MedBen offers HRA administration and can assist you with HSA
set-up services.
MedBen Split Solution
To realize even greater savings from MedBen Managed Care, consider
the advantages of split-funding with our MedBen Split Solution
option. With the Split, your organization pays employee claims up to an
established maximum. At that point, MedBen pays any remaining claims costs up to
the certificate maximums for the plan year. Lower costs and greater employer
control make Split Solution the ideal solution for employers with 20 to 150
medically eligible employees.
